Sunday morning in Cane Garden Bay

We awoke this morning to the wonderful sounds of church music. We peeked out of our bedroom hatch to find that there were baptisms going on on the beach. A group of people were in the water and the rest sang along the shore. It was refreshing to catch a glimpse of the real life of this town. The one that is vastly different than the one that we often experience in the various villages that we enter where the locals that we encounter are those who are serving in the numerous establishments geared specifically towards cruisers. We have decided that we need to get off the beaten path a bit more to see the places that are not overrun by cruisers, charterers, and tours (basically all those who arrive by sea).

Also this morning, we watched a dolphin who circled our boat several times. I was surprised to see him so close to the shore as we are only about 25 meters out. David managed to get a few shots of him.

This afternoon I (finally!) learned how to dive! It may sound preposterous that a person who has spent a good deal of time in the water should not know how to dive, but I guess I never got around to learning. David taught me today and it was exhilarating diving off the side of the boat.
